چکیده

Cowpea is one of the most consumed legumes in Africa. Recombinant DNA technology has been used to insert foreign genes into plants genome thereby creating a new generation with desired traits. Such possess improved seed quality, yield and resistance pests pathogens. The aim this work assess safety profile an variety cowpea by examining its effect on liver kidney.Native cowpea, IT89KD, were fed Wistar rats which divided 3 groups. One group was poultry feed 50% native second while control standard rat chow. At end 40 days feeding period, varieties found have higher protein content than normal variety. Also, there elevation following enzymes, Alanine Transaminase (ALT), Aspartate transaminase (AST) bilirubin presence black arrowheads inflammation kidneys Genetically Modified(GM)cowpea observed. This suggests that caution should be applied use GM as for food man.

Oral toxic exposure of titanium dioxide nanoparticles on serum biochemical changes in adult male Wistar rats

Objective(s): Titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles (NPs) are widely used in commercial food additives and cosmetics worldwide. Uptake of these nanoparticulate into humans by different routes and may exhibit potential side effects, lags behind the rapid development of nanotechnology. Thus, the present study designed to evaluate the toxic effect of mixed rutile and anatase TiO2 NPs on serum bioc...

Effect of para-chlorophenylalanine on male rats: histopathological and biochemical changes in the testes.

Spermatogenically active testes of rat challenged by 100 mg/kg body weight of p- Chlorophenylalanine for 45 days displayed marked and drastic changes in the seminiferous epithelium. Degenerative changes followed by immense necrosis of germ cells lead to complete breakdown of seminiferous tubules. Leydig cells, however, remained unaffected histologically in the treated animals. Among the accesso...
